On August 28, 2020, the Department of Energy’s Office Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy released the DOE Desalination Hub’s (NAWI) first funding opportunity announcement (FOA) on the topic of Innovations in Intensified Brine Management. Concept papers are due September 21, 2020 by 5:00pm PT and NAWI expects to make between 4 and 12 awards for a total up to $8,000,000 in federal funds with a minimum of 25% cost share required and a project period of performance of up to 24 months.
